The Meditation Technique

To practice Vedic Meditation, you sit comfortably in a chair with your back supported and your eyes closed.  You allow your mind to settle down to increasingly quiter levels of consciousness by utilizing the sound of a mantra.  There is no focusing, concentrating or contemplating involved – and you don’t have to control the mind in any way.  The technique feels natural, simple and effortless because you never have to “try” to meditate.  Practice time is only 20 minutes.  To an outside observer you will appear to be simply resting.

Western doctors and scientists have published conclusive evidence showing that when you practice the simple Vedic Meditation technique, your body enters into the ‘relaxation response’, one of the deepest states of rest achievable – even deeper than sleep.  This gives your body a 20-minute window to purify itself of stress, recharge, and restore.  People who learn and practice Vedic meditation report that it is one of the easiest, most natural-feeling meditation techniques available.

This techique has been around for more than 5,000 years. Up until about 50 years ago, the only place you could learn it was in India.  Westerners first started traveling to India to learn Vedic Meditation in the 1960’s, and since then millions have learned.  Why has it become so popular? Because anyone can do it.  You don’t have to be a monk or a yogi to practice Vedic Meditation.  You’re taught how to become a self-sufficient expert within four days.
